San Diego in April is undoubtedly one of the best times of year to visit. The weather is favorable, with barely any rain, and there’s so much going on around the city, including the blooming of the Carlsbad Flower fields.

What Should You Wear In San Diego In April?

Pack your shorts but don’t forget your jeans and hoodies when you visit San Diego in April.

Depending on what part of the world you’re coming from, the temperatures will be perfect for you or too cold. Most locals will still be sporting their cold-weather gear, but summer clothing is also perfectly acceptable.

The Coronado Flower Show

When: April 15th – 16th, 2023

The Coronado Flower Show has been a longstanding tradition in San Diego since 1922. It’s the biggest tented flower display in the United States and is a fun-filled day out for all.

This two-day celebration is filled with flower exhibitions, lectures, and many floral competitions throughout the event. 

Even if flowers aren’t your thing, there will be plenty of other entertainment too, such as live music and a beer garden with pop-up bars and food.

San Diego Padres At Petco Park

The MLB’s Padres kick off April with a round of home baseball games. They’ll play teams like the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies at Petco Park in downtown San Diego. This is always a fun place to find yourself during spring in San Diego.

Besides the baseball games, there will be lots of family-friendly entertainment, including a wiffle ball field for younger baseball enthusiasts.

Race For Autism

On April 1st, the big race for Autism will be held in Balboa Park. The superhero 5K is all about raising money for a great cause and keeping fit. Running isn’t a requirement; you can walk it too!

The Carlsbad Flower Fields are arguably the most popular thing to do in San Diego County in April. People travel from all over the USA in hopes of catching a glimpse of the blooming flowers which decorate the rolling hills of the Carlsbad area.

Feast your eyes on 50 acres of land that Mother Nature has transformed over the past sixty years.

Although March is the most popular time to watch the event unfold, you’re still guaranteed to see the beautiful sight in April.

Take The Kids To See The San Diego Zoo
